Sonia Clock is an app for the iphone and ipod touch that displays the time, day of week and the current alert status for the Auckland volcanic field.

The city of Auckland is built on a monogenetic volcanic field, which is currently dormant but expected to erupt again at some unknown time. Scientists are monitoring the field for signs of unrest and a system of volcanic alerts is used to describe the current status of the volcano. The Sonia Clock app retrieves the current status for the Auckland volcanic field from the Geonet website and suggests a course of action in response to the alert level along with the time and day.
